Hi!

In this picture I am far left, middle row, at the “Great Stupa” in Crestone, Colorado with some of the amazing students in my
Transformational Politics class from the University of Colorado-Denver. We're visiting the mountainside Tibetan Buddhist monument that overlooks the San Luis Valley in Colorado. (see scenic view here).
I find deep meaning in the town of Crestone and surrounding area personally and professionally. There is wide creative and hopeful experimentation in sustainable homebuilding and alternative energy. Crestone is also home to spiritual and retreat centers from many traditions. It's the kind of place where you can
be chanting at a Hindu Ashram, meditate in a Zendo, attend a Catholic Mass at a monastery and be invited to join a Tibetan Buddhist Puja ceremony in the same day!
I thrive on exploring the truths of many spiritual traditions and enduring questions about meaning, compassion and living a good life. I agree with author and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel that asking those questions and dialogue is key not dogmatically grasping answers. Human understanding and interpretation is always evolving.
Some of my happiest times are classes exploring Jewish
mysticism (Kabbalah) with a Hasidic rabbi (Rabbi Howard Hoffman). I'm very fortunate to have this opportunity as it is not my tradtion by birth. I am also fascinated by Ken Wilber's Integral AQAL theory and Integral Life Practice (ILP) and also work with Parallel Realities Practice, a synthesis of Genpo Roshi's Big Mind Process
(the most effective meditative practice I've found in more than 20 years!) and Voice Dialogue. Parallel Realities Practice (developed by Coly Vulpiani, a long time student of
Genpo Roshi's) helps to integrate the absolute and relative aspects of our being in wonderful ways. This year I've experienced deep and compassionate energy healing at Denver Reiki Healing that employs part traditional Reiki and part deep intuitive healing.
I also thrive on time with friends and family, conversation, yoga, walking and losing myself browsing in bookstores.
